He didn’t have to, but he did

I was sitting on the bathroom floor, my head over the toilet, when he walked in. He rubbed my back and started to hold my hair. He held my hair while I threw up everything that I still had in me. He held my hair while I washed my face. He waited until I was ready, took me to my bed and made sure I could fall a sleep. That’s what I call unconditional love, being there for your loved one when they need you the most.
So this Valentine’s Day, give your loved one more than just a card or a gift, give them yourself and your unconditional love, no matter what. Here are some free Valentines cards to include with your unconditional actions of unconditional love. I made these cards in collaboration with Erika from Simply Et Cetera. She is such an amazing mom and she has such a gift for writing, you have to go check her out.

A friend once told me

lavandasfotografia_InYourMidst
…with every child I will be learning something about myself. With both of my kids I’m learning patience. I guess that is something that I need two kids for. Patience is my weakest spot. I don’t like to wait. If I get something in my head I need to do it know. When I was ready to have kids, I wanted to get pregnant the next month. That’s when God started to teach me about patience. I got pregnant three years later. Back then I didn’t understand why God is doing that to me. Now I do, it took me four years to understand that I have to be patient because God knows when the time is right. Now I have this big ideas flying around my head and I just want to start. I’m struggling so much with patience right now. This year started differently than what I planed for. My kids, my hubby and I have been sick all January. I once read, that your new year will depend on how you spend your first three weeks. Seriously? I did take it serious, until two weeks went by and I couldn’t do much and then week three went by and I just think; ‘wow, I guess this year won’t be my year after all.’ Forth week went by and I’m just down. My baby is sick again. I lost all of my patience and than I hear his voice for the first time so clear like never before. “I’m here, I’m right with you!” It’s not about how our first three weeks go by, it’s about so much more. It’s about how I turn the three weeks around and let God lead me because he is right there with me. So, patience momma, your time will come to turn all of your Ideas into reality.

Celma & Marques

lavandasfotografia_0100

This day couldn’t have gone better. One of the best things about this day was seeing the family’s unity; I saw it especially in the way that they all danced together. There was so much love and community!

Celma was a beautiful bride! She had her hair done in a long braid and her lips were painted a shade of pink. You could tell that she was glowing which only added to her beauty! I love happy brides, they make taking photos so much more fun.

Marques had waited for this day forever so watching them finally starting this new chapter in their lives was so exciting! Everyone had been rooting for them all along. They are truly a match made in heaven. Continue reading “Celma & Marques”

Julia & Matthias

I can’t believe my youngest brother is finally married! He married his beautiful bride Julia on a warm, sunny day in July. It was a day like none other; one they will remember forever.

It was an honor for me to be alongside Julia all morning and watch her get ready. The excitement surrounding her was contagious! I watched as her mother added the finishing touches to her hair and waited anxiously for her to walk down the aisle.

I wish you a lot of joy and love on your journey together. Congratulations!

Bina & Rudi

I woke up that morning feeling so nervous. It was my brothers wedding and all I could think about was that I have to hold it together. I thought to myself, no tears, I´m the one who’s taking the pictures that they’re waiting for!

Bina is not just a beautiful woman inside and out, she is also extremely creative and talented. I am honored to have her as my sister in law. I loved spending all day with her, seeing her being nervous and excited about the surprise that she had prepared for her soon to be husband. I saw how hard she worked, coming up with beautiful displays and decorations for her wedding day all by herself.

They started the day together in prayer, asking for God´s blessing over their marriage and their life together. They are exact opposites yet at the same time so similar. Their differences complement each other like two puzzle pieces, creating the perfect picture of love.

As Bina walked down the isle to meet her groom, she surprised him by singing him a song with her dad that she had written. She captured the whole room’s attention with her beautiful voice. While everyone else began to tear up, I had to hold myself together in order to capture the special moment.

As you continue on your journey together, I hope that life brings you endless joy and love for the years to come. Congratulations!
